Review: Wait For It!

Review by Katrina Couzens

It’s amazing how much you can laugh in just over an hour when you’re in the hands of three clowns (and a very timid broom). It’s the end of a long week, and Wait For It! was the perfect energy lift. The show played on Sunday afternoon (28 July) at Trinity Church Hall, Fortitude Valley.

There’s something about good clowning that’s just so pure. Everything is a potential source for humour. It’s silly, absurd, childlike. There was a lot of great physical comedy—Cheesy, Fantasia, and Hotcakes all had their own very distinct physical styles, and there was always something happening in the background. There was also plenty of hilarious audience interaction and great comedic writing. Heck, the entire premise of the show is a great joke in and of itself.

I loved Wait For It! I loved leaving the hall laughing. I loved reliving moments of the comedy as my partner and I recounted our favourite moments on our way home. I love that I’m sitting here at home, a few hours later, still grinning ear to ear.

I couldn’t agree more! I had so much fun and even when I wasn’t laughing, I was smiling from ear to ear. Lots of fun and a great experience with lots of things to talk about, especially when you go with someone else.
