Get Involved

Becoming a volunteer is the best way to help out the many independent artists that are part of Anywhere Festival every single year. If you'd love to be involved, volunteering enables you to learn the ins and outs of the Festival and is ridiculously fun.

We have three key ways you can get involved:

  1. Anywhere Reviewer - get tickets to attend shows, write about them and publish on our web site
  2. Anywhere Photographer - get tickets to attend shows, take photos and publish to our Facebook page
  3. Volunteer - assist independent producers with front of house, general help or specialist skills you would like to offer

Head to the form at the bottom of the page to register.

Anywhere Festival is where performers and audiences alike discover places with performance. We invite you to drop us a line an get involved regardless of age, gender, background, language, accessibility. We want you to have the best experience possible with us and we do everything we can to make sure that happens for you.

And of course, in return to your hard work, you get a stunning t-shirt, opportunities to see shows for free, meet interesting new people you might never have met and an invitation to our VIP events from the festival launch through to the Anywhere Awards in the week after the festival.

You can volunteer to help out at the festival office, at festival venues or if you like to photograph or review shows, you might want to check out the next couple of headings ?

Be an Anywhere Reviewer

We have a limited number of positions available for Anywhere Reviewers in Brisbane, Moreton Bay Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

If you have a voracious appetite to see as many shows as possible and like to express your thoughts about them for others to read, this is for you.

Anywhere Reviewers get free tickets as many shows as they can realistically review. You get guaranteed seats for sharing your experience on the Anywhere website. All reviews will have your byline and link back to a social media account or website.

We want it to start a conversation with the writers and to improve the strength of criticism. This may be run by Anywhere, but we are not looking for puff pieces from friends.

How does it work. It's as simple as:

  • Register your interest by Wednesday 6 April below.
  • Book in your shows by Wednesday 13 April
  • Be part of our session and read our info pack about reviewing at Anywhere
  • See the shows.
  • Post your review within 24 hours of seeing the show.

All reviews are published on our website and in previous years the reviews have been the second most visited section of the web site after the ticket booking page. Check out some of the wonderful work from reviewers in previous years.

If you are already a theatre reviewer with your own online presence, contact us as justaskus@anywhere.is to organise reviewer tickets.

Be an Anywhere Photographer

Anywhere Photographers capture all the action.

Rehearsal and backstage shenanigans, show night spectaculars, and of course the audience's reactions. All photographs are attributed and linked to your social media or website.

You maintain all rights to your work, but Anywhere gets a limited release to use the best shots in Anywhere promotions in future years.
