This year’s program features talented local performers from Moreton Bay and beyond bringing you theatre, dance, comedy, musical theatre, circus, immersive installations, storytelling, cabaret, classical and swing music.
By attending one (or more) of the shows in this year’s festival, you are supporting performing artists, local businesses and keeping your travel costs down by staying local in Moreton Bay. Tickets start from just $15 with many venues offering food and drink options and free parking to ensure a great night.
Catch talented local Moreton Bay companies and performers in fabulous shows including The Birds & the Bees, a science comedy about ‘plant sex’ aka pollination; No Exit, Sartre’s dark classic set in a tattoo parlour; and Adrift in D’Bay, where storytellers take you on a captivating journey through time and space in Deception Bay.
Music and dance lovers are covered with Songs for Absent Beauty, three songwriters weaving stories and music in a hair salon; take A Swing around the Dancefloor for a swing dancing event with a live 18-piece band; Limelight, the annual family-friendly event showcasing Moreton Bay’s creative skill; and Crazy Little Thing Called Love, a delicious feast of song and dance all in the name of finding true love.
This year’s festival welcomes productions by South-East Queensland companies bringing their unique shows to Moreton Bay. For big laughs get along to This is Your Trial, where ordinary people bring their petty grievances to ‘court’; The Big D tells a hilarious, heartfelt and raw tale of drag, drinking and determination; and That’s Life turns the salacious headlines of trash mags into a night of frivolity.
Cabaret and circus fans can sneak into Speakeasy for a dance and music-filled journey through the jazz age of the 1920s; get a little Tipsy History with circus in a local brewery; or marvel at Flabbergasters, a magic circus stunt show for all ages.
Music lovers will relish Guitarra y Cuarteto, a concert for guitar and string quartet. Those craving a quirky venue will love Whistling Past the Graveyard set among the monuments in local cemeteries, where two talented raconteurs share songs and stories about funerals and the end of life.
