Theatre, Puppetry, Cabaret, Nature Walks… This Anywhere Has It All!

Hello there! My name is Katrina, and I’ve been lucky enough to become a reviewer for Brisbane’s 2024 Anywhere Theatre Festival. And my goodness, what a loadout! I’m so keen for the next couple of weeks of theatre, magic, drag, acrobatics, and more.

Starting from tonight, with the Critical Last Chance Years, Vol. 3, I’ll be reviewing 11 shows on their opening nights (or opening mornings, or afternoons). So stay tuned!

What am I most excited for?

The thing I am always the most excited about for the Anywhere Theatre Festival is the ANYWHERE part. In the past I’ve performed on a footpath at UQ Lakes, and amongst exhibits at the Museum of Brisbane. I’ve seen shows in heritage listed houses and old warehouses. This year, I’ll be attending a yoga studio (Heaven on Earth), walking along a secret urban nature strip (Wild Vacancies), and seeing clowns in a church hall (Wait For It!). There is nothing like the Anywhere Theatre Festival for connecting you to the place you live and the people in it.
