Sarah Walton’s one-woman comedy show felt like being with a bunch of girlfriends sharing stories about the ups and downs of finding yourself through life and romance against a background of movies, songs and themes of the 80’s and 90’s.
Sarah introduces the show with her three truths – to feel love as inspired by rom coms, cry a lot and laugh a lot. She takes the audience through her life traumas of crying a lot and laughing a lot to turn her wounds into wisdom and love.
The trials and tribulations of her life journey are worked into a series of simple drawings in a flip book to show the audience the different stages of shy Sarah, silent Sarah, sexy Sarah, bad-ass Sarah, sober Sarah, celibate Sarah and eventually happy Sarah.
Sarah has an authenticity that made me want to laugh and cry and dance! It took me to times and places in life and with a happy ending – just like the rom coms!
Look out for the screenplay rumoured to be in the works!
