James Patrick Reed – from boxer to blockbuster

Patrick has been a professional actor for many years and has been involved in many television productions and film including Prisoner, Blue Heelers, Stingers, The Crash Zone, State Coroner, Janus, Law of the Land, Man From Snowy River II, Embassy, Neighbours, Boney, Mission Impossible, The Flying Doctors, The Magistrate and Carson’s Law to name just a few.

His theatre credits include, with RQTC As You Like It , No Names No Pack Drill and with 12th Night Theatre Knuckle, Hamlet, The Choir, Glass Menagerie and Angel City.

Going right back he performed at La Mama, Melbourne in its heady, early ground breaking days.

As a young aspiring performer keeping body and soul together he stepped into another ring in an altogether different role as boxer .

He brings all these years of knowledge and knockabout to his role of “Monk” O’Neill that iconic creation in this Jack Hibberd masterpiece.
