Expressions of Interest Open (NOW CLOSED) for 2026 Brisbane Anywhere Festival

Performance makers anywhere are invited to express their interest in performing at the next Brisbane Anywhere Festival, running May 2026.

Known for showcasing theatre, comedy, dance, circus, spoken work, cabaret, music, immersive and live art in non-traditional spaces, Anywhere Festival allows creatives to reimagine their work in unique locations across Brisbane—from backyards to warehouses.

Anywhere Festival is the festival that makes anywhere your stage.

Free of the restrictions and financial pressures of traditional performance spaces, artists can be ambitious, and have your work discovered in rent free non traditional performance spaces and nooks and crannies. Since 2011, over 900 productions, mostly of new works have been premiered to nearly a million people.

Designed to support both emerging talent and established artists, the festival encourages boundary-pushing projects and ensures access to critical resources, including insurance, workshops, and promotional opportunities through a broad-reaching network

“The biggest benefit that we’ve found from Anywhere is the access to performance venues – especially in a city like Brisbane, it’s both difficult and very costly for independent artists to find suitable venues for their work. In a two-stage process, artists can express interest by 31 October with anything from a fully developed touring show through to an idea they would like to develop and then have until 23 February to develop, change and confirm all their details for the festival.

Supporting a wide array of performance types, Anywhere Festival continues to expand artistic possibilities while minimising production costs, allowing creatives to realise their vision in surprising, immersive ways.
