Munslow/Hossack Productions

The Garage Band is the first official production by the newly formed ‘Munslow/Hossack Productions’. This powerhouse team of Andrew Munslow and Deb Hossack are the technical team responsible for bringing to life over 30 productions over the past 4 years at Act 1 Theatre. They have also premiered 2 musicals written by Andrew which Deb directed as well as the first performance of The Garage Band back in 2022. Andrew is the current president and lighting and sound director for Act 1 Theatre while Deb holds the position of resident Stage Manager at the Theatre. They share the role of Marketing and Publicity.
Andrew Munslow
I (Andrew) started taking guitar lessons around 10 years old and as most kids do lost interest after a couple of years. Then, apart from late night guitar sessions, life took over. Fast forward to the year 2011 and an old friend who’s been sitting in the corner for all those years patiently waiting called out and said ….Right! where were we? Let’s get back to it shall we? Since then, I’ve played regularly, and became heavily involved with Act1 Theatre at Strathpine doing lighting and sound for the productions and being involved in the theatre’s band known as The Actones, here I found like-minded people and an outlet for my creativity having so far written 2 full length musicals, and our current offering “The Garage Band”. 🙏
Deb Hossack
Born into a musical family, Deb first stepped on stage at Sandgate Town Hall at age 12. So began a lifelong love affair with theatre. Since then Deb has undertaken every role there is in theatre but you will most often find her working behind the scenes as Stage Manager or Director, sometimes both at the same time!
Douglas Buchanan
Douglas has been playing on stage in bands since the early 2000s, and was a foundation member of the Actones, who are the resident band at Act1 Theatre, Strathpine. Performing in The Garage Band gives him the opportunity to play and sing the songs he loves.
Tom Burrell
Tom has played guitar and sung his entire adult life, mostly around campfires and parties, until he started acting 13 years ago. Since then the playing side of entertainment has taken second place, mostly, until now. The Garage Band sees him back behind his stratocaster. Tom knows all the chords but he doesn’t make it cry or sing… except one time, All Those Years Ago.
Mark Whitmore
Mark AKA Stuart, started learning bass in his late teens. He was a member of bands in Albury/Wodonga before moving to QLD. Mark and starting an originals band, MD3. MD3 perished an album and then life intervened. 35 years later and Mark is playing with Occasionally Jazz, providing lighting support for Act One Theatre shows and now broadening his skill set with a little acting with The Garage Band.
David Washbourne
David began playing the drums as a child and has never stopped! He was drumming semi-pro in Hard Rock/Blues and Contemporary Cover Bands during the Thriving Perth Pub Scene in the 80’s “Tyrant”, “Cuva”, “Sir Bourbon Boys”, “The Fundamentals” and “The Three Amigos” to name a few. In the early Nineties David joined Brisbane Cover Band “Newmatix”. Rock on!
