Artists and creatives across Moreton Bay and beyond are invited to make Anywhere their stage, as Anywhere Festival opens expressions of interest for the 2026 Anywhere Festival Moreton Bay.

Running from 7 – 24 May 2026, performers, producers, and creators present their work in unique, non-traditional spaces across the city with the support of Anywhere Festival.

Anywhere Festival Moreton Bay is a curated event, showcasing a diverse mix of performances across various genres and audience demographics. Our program features a wide range of producers, from emerging talent to experienced professionals, and we welcome all ideas and performances in our curation process.

Anywhere Festival offers artists a chance to produce and perform in spaces outside of conventional theatres. It’s about transforming the Moreton Bay area into a stage, with performances happening in local businesses like tattoo parlors and breweries to community halls.

This opportunity is more than just a performance slot—Anywhere Festival provides substantial behind-the-scenes support, ensuring artists can focus on their creative work. As one artist shared,

“I’ve done Anywhere Festival three times, and this year I realized something. So many new people don’t realize how much Anywhere Festival does behind the scenes. When we presented our second show outside the festival, we assumed they would do all the things Anywhere did for us—but they didn’t.”

The festival’s lower cost of entry and focus on accessibility make it particularly appealing for indie and emerging artists. It’s not just about performance; it’s about building networks, refining skills, and exploring new roles.

“Anywhere Festival is an excellent stepping stone out of university. It allows us to put our learned knowledge into practice,” another artist noted. “I wouldn’t have been confident trying the producer role without Anywhere Festival.”

Artists are encouraged to take creative risks without the financial pressures of paying for performance space.

“The festival creates a safe space for new work, and emerging artists feel free to explore and experiment without financial repercussions,” explained one participant. “Additionally, it provides a net of community for the local performing arts scene.”

With a wide range of resources and guidance from a dedicated creative team, Anywhere Festival is a place where mistakes are part of the learning process.

“It is so important, as you learn new skills and are allowed to make mistakes because Anywhere acts as a safety net to catch you,” said another artist. “There are so many useful resources, including a great creative team.”
