A high-energy genre-hopping groove machine, you can’t easily pin down Deon Powter Band’s sound. Refusing to be pigeonholed and carving their own path, these four guys have a solid groove and a real knack for pulling your memory to a place of familiarity, yet still delivering something unique and quintessentially Deon Powter Band sounding.

Consisting of songwriter, guitarist and front man Deon Powter, Charles Eddy on drums, Cory Olsen on bass and Ryan Krarup on keys, and with influences spanning the decades, including The Beatles, Clapton, Hendrix, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Crowded House, Sting, John Mayer, Paul Kelly, Ron Sexsmith and Madison Cunningham, DPB’s music is brought to life by these four brothers in musical arms.

On stage their live show is exciting, spontaneous and not to be missed. Live highlights include the 2016 Agnes Waters Blues, Roots and Rock Festival, headlining the 2022 Moggill Music Medley fundraiser, and two appearances at the Kawana Carols by the Beach in 2021 and 2022. In 2021 DPB launched their own original live music event – Sounds of the City – showcasing up and coming talent and hosted in unique venues right across Brisbane. They have hosted 4 successful events so far, and plan to continue running Sounds of the City seasonally, providing a platform for original artists and unique locations.

Deon Powter Band show no signs of slowing down in 2023, ready to kick it up a notch with the release of their first full length album Headwaters in March. A collection of high energy original music, recorded and mastered to the highest quality, Headwaters is that rare 100% independent release with all the polish and class of a big label album.
