Primitives (Opening night)
Presented by Whitfield Studio
Love. Art. Entrails.
Set in Australia in 1907, Primitives details an afternoon rendezvous between wealthy young heiress, Alice, and impressionist painter, Van Brandt, as Sylvester the giant Eagle plans to eat them for lunch.
A lighthearted hike spirals into a tense and darkly comedic exploration of love, art history, and the human psyche. This razor-sharp two-hander blends humour, horror, live painting, and romance.
It’s Picnic at Hanging Rock meets Waiting for Godot – a darkly funny, deeply unsettling play that’s not quite like anything else you’ll see this year.
