VACANT COLLECTIVE RETURNS TO ANYWHERE FESTIVAL WITH “TOO MUCH INFLUENCE” – A BOLD, SITE-SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE ABOUT POWER, PRESENCE & PERCEPTION
Brisbane, QLD – Launching July 19th, Too Much Influence is the latest boundary-pushing work by Vacant Collective Theatre, premiering as part of the 2025 Anywhere Festival. This raw and intimate performance invites audiences to reflect on how power, social identity, and influence shape us.

Presented in a private residence in Ashgrove, the work is staged outside traditional theatre walls, true to Anywhere Festival’s ethos. Too Much Influence places you in the belly of the beast of influencers in their home to unearth the true price of an online presence.
Founded in 2016, Vacant Collective is a Brisbane-based ensemble known for creating thought-provoking, socially conscious performance. With a history of tackling themes of race, gender, and sexuality, the collective continues to champion underrepresented voices and reimagine what theatre can be.
“This piece exists in the tension between vulnerability and resistance,” says director Laura “ElleJay” Bayly. “It’s about taking up space unapologetically—and inviting others to do the same.”
