The World’s Largest Filmmaking Event Returns to Brisbane in 2024!
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE A MOVIE IN JUST 48 HOURS?!
Calling all Queensland filmmakers! Taking place across more than 100 cities across the globe, the 48 Hour Film Project is returning to Brisbane for only one wild and sleepless weekend just before Anywhere Festival kicks off in July!
From July 12th-14th, teams of local filmmakers will be challenged to write, shoot, and edit an original short film all within an exhilarating 48 hours!
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a first time filmmaker or a certified pro – the project is open to filmmakers of all backgrounds and experience levels. We provide a platform for you to showcase your creativity, experiment with filmmaking in a low-risk setting, and collaborate with like-minded individuals, whilst providing you an opportunity to network with industry professionals and build a portfolio of work.
What’s more, all films submitted to the 2024 project will be screened at the Angelika Cinemas on July 31st and August 1st in Woolloongabba! The winning film of the Brisbane project will then go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2025 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner!
