Featured Artist – Jay Jane

Jay Jane is an Australian poet, short novelist and writer, who fell in love with the written word and its ability to connect to people from all stages of life, through both beauty and darkness. She draws inspiration from her own personal experiences, emotions and from real-world struggles around her. While majority of her work revolves around taboo topics—highlighting the fragility of the human experience—she aims to spark conversation within society around sunned and hushed topics. Ultimately, if nothing else, she wants her work to make people feel something. At nineteen years old, she aspires to be the kind of poet that can give a voice to those who feel as though they are not heard and become part of the catalyst of change. In 2019, twelve years old at the time, she was published in The Monologue Adventure as the youngest person to do so at the time. During 2020, she had her first poetry piece published in The Nightingale Poetry Digest and then in The International Poetry Digest. In 2021 she was published by The International Human Rights Art Movement, receiving an Honorable Mention in the youth category of Creators of Justice Literary Awards. However, she put down her pen for the years that followed, picking it up again this year with a plethora of stories to tell.
