Message from The Honourable Leeanne Enoch MP
The 2023 Anywhere Festival is an exciting showcase of independent performance makers and local storytellers set to engage audiences from 4 – 21 May 2023.
Now in its 12th year, the Anywhere Festival features home-grown talent presenting new and dynamic work in surprising and unexpected locations throughout Brisbane, from hair salons, to houses, streets and even a former paint factory.
The 2023 festival supports 341 local artists across 50 productions including world premieres in theatre, music and comedy.
The Queensland Government supports Anywhere Festival with $320,000 through the Organisations Fund 2022-2025 as a platform for new work, showcasing independent artists and arts workers, and engaging with new audiences.
Anywhere Festival helps to realise the priorities of Creative Together, the Palaszczuk Government’s 10-year roadmap for arts, culture and creativity in Queensland by sharing our stories and celebrating our storytellers across the performing arts.
Presenting exciting arts experiences further grows Queensland’s reputation as a cultural tourism destination, ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, when our talented artists and arts organisations will be showcased on a world stage.
I hope you enjoy the fun and creative spirit of Anywhere Festival 2023!
The Honourable Leeanne Enoch MP
