Building on the success of their sell-out shows and award for “Best Performance” for the Anywhere Festival Moreton Bay 2025, Shoggoth’s Old Peculiar return in 2026 with a bold new vision for a multi-disciplinary arts extravaganza

Seamlessly blending elements of folk, blues, gypsy jazz, world and rock with an unusual selection of instruments including xylophone, accordion, suitcase drum, lagerphone and guitars, while weaving a gothic narrative through their songs, these maniacal musicians have created their own unique sound – Genuine Turn of the Century Lovecraftian Horror Folk!

Meet the vaudevillian varlets of Shoggoth’s Old Peculiar – Edward E. Vile, Mistress Maggot, Squamous Criddle, Scabby Andy and the enigmatic Mr Bilious. Recently exhumed for three special performances, and together with the creature cultists of dance collective, Denizens of the Deep, they’ll take you on an eerie expedition through strange Lovercraftian landscapes filled with dark and jaunty horror-folk songs of monsters, madness and murder!

Rising from the depths of sunken R’lyeh and using techniques from Butoh, Bodyweather, Suzuki and contemporary dance with a layer of interactive theatre, Denizens of the Deep’s spooky shuffling, torturous twisting and devilish dancing will fill you with delight and despair!

Doors Open 6pm. Drinks available.
Immersive experience begins 6.30pm
Cabaret Show begins 7pm.

An art exhibition showcasing some SEQ’s finest creative visionaries. Featured artists are –

Becki Mulcair
Becki is a contemporary artist whose work explores bold colour, texture, and visual storytelling through an intuitive and expressive style. Her pieces feature stylised portraiture, nature-inspired compositions, and imaginative scenes, often blending elements of landscape, flora, and human presence into dreamlike narratives.

Claytastrophe Creations
An artist from across the seas — a merchant of monsters and a purveyor of the peculiar.
Bringing to life one-of-a-kind sculptures handmade from polymer clay and whatever strange materials happen to be lying around. Each piece crawls out of the imagination like a nightmarish fever dream. Every creation is lovingly crafted, bursting with character and often laced with dark humour. Claytastrophe celebrates the weird, the grotesque, and the ghoulishly absurd.

Anita Richter
Unhampered by formal tuition, Anita works in any style she pleases, just as at home with Cubism as Fantastic Art, cartoon sketches, or impressionist landscapes; she brings her own self taught approach to every piece.
Working in Maleny, Queensland, Anita produces works of original whimsy that finds their owners in time.

Bespoke Pewter
Dan Towse is an independent craftsman, creating pewter jewellery using medieval methods.
Dan carves moulds out of stone, by hand, and then hand pours molten metal to produce a piece.
Stone moulds produce beautifully crisp, fine, bright pieces with a character all of their own.
