Choose Your Own Adventure in Mother Goose’s Misplaced Tales

Improv Queensland’s Newest Show Turns a Classic Tale into a Creative Playground for Young Imaginations

What happens when Mother Goose opens a storybook and finds all the words have gone missing? Improv Queensland’s newest production, Mother Goose’s Misplaced Tales, invites young audiences to help rewrite a beloved tale—live, loud, and full of laughter—at this year’s Anywhere Festival.

This interactive improvised theatre piece, directed by Siobhan Finniss, has been specially created for children aged 4–7 years old and their families. Featuring a reimagining of The Three Little Pigs, the show asks children to help Mother Goose rebuild the story from scratch. Will the wolf be a villain—or a hero? Will the pigs live in houses of bricks or balloons? The kids decide!

Mother Goose’s Misplaced Tales is perfect for little ones with big imaginations. No two performances are the same. Children are invited to become both audience and co-creators — experiencing firsthand the joy of building stories.

Performances will take place in the vibrant, child-friendly space of Little Village Playcentre in Moorooka, a much-loved creative hub for families that aligns beautifully with the spirit of storytelling, imagination, and play.

Improv Queensland, one of Brisbane’s leading improv companies, brings a history of award-winning work to the festival, including Best Comedy (2024) and the Tour Ready Award (2023)Mother Goose’s Misplaced Tales continues their mission to create theatre that is inventive, inclusive, and joyfully unpredictable.
