K MAK is the originals project of classically-trained cellist Kathryn McKee, who’s played around Australia, Asia, Europe and the Pacific. She draws on her experience performing with Kanye West, Eminem, Archie Roach, Guy Sebastian, Vera Blue, Queensland Theatre and Opera Queensland to create a distillation of classical, alternative and electro-pop music.
K Mak has played Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane, at the Woodford Folk Festival and a Tedx Youth Forum. She’s recently sold out the Melbourne, Adelaide and Anywhere Fringe festivals with her visually-curated planetarium shows.
Her works have been nominated for a Q Song Award, the International Songwriting Competition and an Independent Music Award, and have been played on community radio stations worldwide, on ABC local radio and on ABC Classic.
