“Bard Wars IV: Hope Renew’d” tickets at 2025 Brisbane Anywhere Festival go on sale to mark May The Fourth
In a galaxy not so far away – in fact, right here at the 2025 Brisbane Anywhere Festival – a legendary theatrical saga returns! To celebrate May the Fourth, the Artful Dodgers are bringing the fan-favourite Shakespeare-meets-Star-Wars spectacular Bard Wars IV: Hope Renew’d, with tickets on sale now… even before the full Brisbane Anywhere Festival program is revealed.
This intergalactic epic began life at the very first Anywhere Festival back in 2012, delighting audiences with its collision of Shakespearean verse and Jedi drama. Now, thirteen years later, the force is strong once more as the Bard and the Dark Side reunite for another adventure in non-traditional spaces.
Bard Wars IV: Hope Renew’d is a witty, high-energy romp through rebellion, romance, and iambic pentameter, promising lightsabers, soliloquies, and stormtroopers like you’ve never seen them before.
Anywhere Festival Artistic Director Paul Osuch says:
“Before there was Grogu, before there was Kylo Ren, there was Bard Wars – our most requested cult classic. We couldn’t resist bringing it back, and what better day to announce it than May the Fourth?”

“We’re so excited to bring back the insanity that is this parody! Bard Wars holds a very special place in our hearts, and what better way to celebrate the Artful Dodgers’ very first production than bringing my father’s hilarious script back where it all began, with Anywhere Festival Brisbane. Weapons become much sharper and less powered by lasers, aliens become foreigners, droids become slaves, space stations become giant wheeled forts, farmboys gravitate towards melodrama, and mysterious men control a magical, mystic Force known only to a few.”
