Like David Attenborough, but not at all.
Maybe Mad Theatre Companypresents as part of the
2019 Anywhere Festival
A rip-roaring comedy centred around one animal expert desperately attempting to unload his infinite knowledge of animals on his audience and fans, but one key thing has been forgotten – the animals! What can he do? Can he overcome his assistant’s faux par’s and mischief? She sure isn’t making it easy, but onwards and upwards!
Through the combination of contemporary clown, physical comedy and original music, the audience will find themselves embracing the hilarity, humming along to beautiful ukulele interludes, and leaving their troubles behind. And what better way to do this then to have two clowns lead the way!
Bridget Ward and George Harris are the founders of Maybe Mad Theatre Company, creating and producing this flippant and fantastical show to get their first year as an independent theatre company off to a flying start. Both Bridget and George graduated a three-year acting degree at the University of Southern Queensland in 2018, and with their passion, drive and enthusiasm for theatre and play, they don’t plan on taking a gap year any time soon.
At Toowoomba’s annual Scope Theatre Festival, they triumphed in their first festival win, taking home People’s Choice Award. Through their years studying together, Bridget and George both found that using play and embracing chaos through laughter help them to manage their mental health and improve their quality of life. They are now ready to unleash their wacky way of dealing with life on any fools who dare to see the world the way they do.
