The hit comedy parody returns for the Anywhere Festival in May.
We told you we’d never let go – and now, the classic love story of Jack and Rose will return to Brisbane as part of the 2019 Anywhere Festival.
Titanic: The Movie, The Play was a smash hit in 2016, with audiences loving this immersive tongue-in-cheek homage to the most epic romance of the 1990s.
Brisbane-based pop culture performance company Act/React has partnered with the Queensland Maritime Museum at South Bank to present a second voyage of the great ship from May 11-26.
“We’ve had so many requests to bring this show back, and we know that’s because it’s such a unique experience,” producer Natalie Bochenski said.
“Our passengers watch events unfold on a large-scale Titanic bow set piece, and have to make a run for the lifeboats – all provided by our partners at QMM.
“Whether you love the 1997 film or hate it, you will enjoy our loving tribute to Jack, Rose, Billy Zane, Celine Dion and that rogue iceberg out for revenge.”
Actor Daren King, who will be playing Jack, the role made famous by Leonardo DiCaprio, said Act/React’s unique participatory comedy was a delight for cast members and audiences.
“Forget The Bachelor – this is the best hour’s entertainment featuring a Rose you will see,” he said.
“Having the show at the Maritime Museum is a perfect match – they supply the boats and we bring the belly laughs.”
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the QMM to support its mission to preserve Queensland’s maritime history.
