STORYPLACE: Noosa Everglades will be presented on Saturday 18 May 2019 as part of the 2019 Anywhere Festival.

Audiences can book a chartered cruise along the pristine waters of the Noosa Everglades – rich in history and a storyplace of our environment and community – or join the celebration for lunch and performances at Harry’s Hut.

Traditional custodians have a deep connection to the everglades with stories of camps, corroborees and rescues that will be shared through spoken word, music and dance. Local artists and musicians will also join us for a storytelling performance at Harry’s Hut.
STORYPLACE is a locally driven arts event that shares the stories of natural and constructed landmarks throughout the world – stories shared by elders, poets, musicians, artists and other community keepers of knowledge. Events are held on location and include spoken word, musical and other performative artforms. Following the event, stories are recorded and made available for public download through the STORYPLACE webpage.

Past STORYPLACE events have focused on Mudjimba Island (2017 Horizon Festival), Mooloolaba (2018 Anywhere Theatre Festival) and Point Arkwright (2018 Horizon Festival).

Our project has been supported by Noosa Council. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Noosa Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
