EC Venue’s BlackBox Studio is the perfect DIY, intimate performance space.With a maximum audience capacity of 50pax, this venue is a great space for new works, smaller shows and performances with minimum tech requirements.

The Blackbox studio comes as a blank canvas. With venue supplying the set up in the images attached. This includes:
– flat floor seating for 50pax
– house JBL PA speakers with aux cord for playback
– house downlighting, festoon lighting & coloured LED wash lights
* No stage or venue tech is provided, performances in this venue must be operated and run entirely by the artists.
* This venue is not completely soundproof , it sits adjacent to our public Foyer Bar and has some noise bleed from patrons & road. Please consider this when booking the BlackBox Studio. EC Venue is an independent arts space located in Fortitude Valley Brisbane.
During our 13+ years in operation we have hosted thousands of diverse performances from live music to dance, theatre & comedy.

As a creative space, our venue supports a range of local Queensland companies & independent artists each week, running rehearsals, workshops, showcasing performances & creative developments.

Our live music program varies from many contemporary and classical fusions to acoustic and electronic acts which bring crowds and attendees from a vast demographic of socioeconomic and age inclusions.

We pride ourselves in being a creative hub that allows performers in many disciplines to create and showcase work as well as being a public venue for the community to enjoy.
