Cowards! Traitors! Deserters! Mutiny and Betrayal! What’s wrong with Brisbane, huh?
After yet another goodbye party Rosa and Taylor are done with pleasantries and well wishes. When almost all of your friends leave your hometown you can’t help but take it personally. Sure they have their reasons for abandoning you, but their reasons are dumb and stupid. They’ll come crawling back… one day… maybe…
Blending sketch, characters and musical numbers, this is a tribute to the true heroes left behind in Brisbane from two friends with a rapidly shrinking guest list.
About the Artists
Taylor Edwards and Rosa Sottile are two of Brisbane’s leading women of sketch and improv comedy. Both are founders of comedy company and rising local institution Big Fork Theatre, and original members of the cult experimental sketch show Get It Inya. Becoming friends in high school, they have trained with iO Theatre in Chicago and performed at festivals across Australia together as an improv duo and separately in their own productions. Drawing on their shared fascination for absurdity, human weirdness, anxiety and anthropomorphic animals, Rosa and Taylor debuted at the 2018 Anywhere Theatre Festival with their sold-out sketch show Get In The Cupboard. Their latest offering Everyone’s Leaving Brisbane marks a new phase for both their creative and personal lives.
