1.5 x 12 is a 10-minute contemporary dance piece created as an artistic artefact made during and in response to isolation. Choreographed by Nerida Matthaei, the work focusses on themes of confinement, mental health and connectivity, drawn together in an intricate tessellation performed by 12 exceptional local dancers. The choreography responds to the realities of living as a dancer in this time and is as much about performance as it is about community.
Gather with us for a day on the Backbone green, bring a picnic, enjoy the sun and witness the premiere of 1.5 x 12.
Choreographed by Nerida Matthaei.
Performed by Charles Ball, Jade Brider, Alexa Dewar, Hsin-Ju Ely, Lauren Graham, Isabella Hood, Grace Knauth, Nadia Milford, Erin O’Rourke, Chiu-Ju Wang, Jacob Watton and Sandi Woo.
Thank you to Backbone Youth Arts for partnering with us on this project. Stay tuned to the Phluxus2 Dance Collective social pages for a unique online version to be released later in the year.
