A wild and magical forest story adventure.
Follow Vasilissa into the forest on a desperate search for fire… but wait! Is she made of the right stuff? Is she wise enough to find her way to Baba Yaga’s? Is she brave enough to face the wild witch alone? Hear the song of the Sirin (the owl women), be entranced by dancing aerialists, lose yourself in the beauty of nature but please… do beware of the witch!
Told in circus and song, this heart felt retelling of the Russian coming-of-age tale is an experience not to be missed. Put on your comfortable shoes to join Sylph Circus and Siren Ensemble for an unforgettable walking story, held inside a secret Maleny forest location.

Vasilissa is a relaxed performance in that it is held in a natural environment, its sound is unplugged and performers are unlit. This may suit those with a hypersensitivity to sound, light and artificial environments or textures. The work is however a walking story so audience will be expected to move to different locations throughout the forest area and there is a small amount of interactivity involved. Wheelchair access is possible with some difficulty in term of grass, tree roots and bandicoot holes along the paths. All toilets, including disabled are located some distance away at the Maleny Showgrounds.
