SILVER SIRCUS: Home/Truth

The darkly delicious Silver Sircus present a very special event as part of the Australian Modern concert series.

As guests in a beautiful iconic Brisbane home, they offer an intimate performance, weaving together songs and stories of connection, adventure and longing. “Home/Truth” invites you to consider the notion of our changing relationships to the concept of home, both as physical places and metaphysical spaces where feeling and imagination are embodied. Performing in extended six piece acoustic ensemble mode Silver Sircus will bring together rich threads from their decade plus of music making, as well as debuting new material from the upcoming new album project currently being developed.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Silver Sircus is an ever-evolving music collective led by vocalist/lyricist Lucinda Shaw and drummer/composer James Lees. Since 2008, they have built a highly eclectic world of sound incorporating dark cabaret performance, electronica, post-rock, prog and chamber folk elements. In varying formats, the band has delivered acclaimed performances for arts, music and LGTIQ+ festivals all over Australia and has released several singles/EPs and two albums. After a short hiatus in 2018-19, the band re-emerged to perform an online performance at home during the locked down winter of 2020, release two remix EP’s and most recently return to live performances as an acoustic ensemble.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Australian Modern is a mid-century modern home in Carina, presenting live concert performances from some of Brisbane’s best performers. The owners Chris and Susan are active supporters of the performing arts, and have used their lounge room for live theatre and music performances for more than 30 years. For the last eight years they have hosted sold out performances for the Anywhere Festival.

Doors open 4:30PM, show commences 5.00PM for show on Sunday 22nd of May.

Ticket price includes a complimentary drink on arrival (please note event is not BYO).

Full vaccination is required as per government regulations for all performers and audience members attending Australian Modern shows
