‘When I hear your name, it feels like I’ve been set on fire all over again. With a matchstick made of anxiety, some what-could-have-beens, and a tiny bit of resentment. But there is also warmth, a lot of warmth, embedded in your name.’

Based on the quote, ‘don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm’, this is a fictional story about real emotions; raw connections, honest introspection, and how we allow love to rip us open. The play opens in Eden’s antique store in the year 2023. Noah, her first partner, walks into the store. They haven’t seen each other since they were teenagers. They recognise each other, but it is easier to pretend they don’t. The memories flood back, and the pair float in the love, betrayal, innocence, and desire together.

First love is intrinsically euphoric. Until it’s not.
