I Felt Unfettered and Alive

May 7, 2021 @ 7:30 pm

Libby Myers

Guitar music inspired by Brisbane, Bach and Joni Mitchell.

Unfortunately, the 7 May performance is no longer happening. Other performances are available – see below for details.

Libby Myers is a guitarist whose unique and heartfelt performances seek to explore the musical spaces between genres, times and stories.

This intimate concert features premieres of brand new music written by celebrated local and international composers from classical, jazz and indie rock worlds.

Challenging notions of what classical guitar music is, the program is built on the influences of Bach and Brisbane, Joni Mitchell and PJ Harvey, feelings of being alone and being at home.

These groundbreaking new pieces are inspired by personal stories and musical heroes, and brought to life alongside much-loved classical guitar favourites. This is an innovative and fresh perspective on contemporary music not to be missed.
