Five Minute Call is a bold, devised performance created by teens.

Presented in a dynamic revue style, the piece blends original monologues, sketches, musical theatre, and poetry, weaving together stories of dramatic tension on stage and off.

TWO x15 minute performance (30 min show).

Join Director Jessica Kate Ryan as she peers behind the curtain and explores the organised chaos, functional dysfunction, and nervous excitement that goes on before a production. Our dramatic cast of Speak Up Studio Ensemble Students will attend one week of rehearsals in their winter school holidays before jumping onto the “stage” (or behind it) on the first weekend of the festival, polished and ready to go!
If you asked Jessica what the show was about, she’d probably put her What’s Poppin Sodie down and say something like, “Oh you know, much like the moments backstage before a show… we’re not quite sure what will happen!”

    Entry via the pedestrian gate on Fernberg Rd. Bring a picnic blanket to sit on the grassy amphitheatre and wear something warm in the evenings.
