Presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council
Life’s short, let’s dance!
Celebrate Mother’s Day with dance workshops, a street parade and live music in and around Deception Bay.
Join the street dance parade and boogie into Apex Park for an afternoon of live music with A Taste of Tarantino, an awesome live band playing hits from Tarantino movies. Their set of tunes is guaranteed to get you up onto the grass dancefloor.
Pop into the enchanting tent run by the Soul Dance School of Romany and Middle Eastern Dance who focus on providing authentic, culturally rich experiences in an informal, no-pressure environment. Be enchanted by the Mozaik Dancers who will weave their way through the park at regular intervals to demonstrate their evocative dancing. You can even take a seat in their tent and have your hands and feet adorned with henna for a small fee.
The Mozaik Dance style is an original and unique dance style born of the perfect blend of genres taught at the school. The result is an original celebration of eastern dance that features fiery skirt work, graceful arms, and hands and energetic footwork, sometimes combined with Sword Dance and at other times, the single, giant Fan Veil.
Once you’ve finished in the park, boogie on back to the Deception Bay Community Centre for the Sunset Dance Showcase featuring a fabulous array of local dance talent.
