Be prepared for an epic of saturation when BYTES Theatre Company transforms the journey of Jason and the Argonauts into a mesmerising piece of Anywhere theatre at the Nambour Aquatic Centre.
This re-telling of the Argonauts’ quest for the Golden Fleece, by Tony Award winning writer Mary Zimmerman, is a mythological voyage of discovery into the unknown. Set in a children’s water play park, complete with water fountains and a splash zone, audiences can choose to get up close to the action and the spray, or not.
Over its many years presenting with Anywhere Festival, BYTES Theatre Company’s award-winning shows (Metamorphoses 2018, Ariadne 2019 and Avalon 2021) consistently push the boundaries of what is possible outside of traditional theatre settings. This year’s offering will be no exception.

Regular Seats are not permitted on the water park surface. Patrons are however encouraged to bring their own pool mattresses/bean bags or inflatable seats and towels/ blankets etc.for seating purposes and arrive before show time to set up( no deck chairs sorry). Patrons unable to sit on the water park surrounds are asked to email the organiser so a seat can be provided in a small seating area.
