PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE HAS BEEN A VENUE CHANGE TO A HOUSE IN CAMP HILL.
Presented by Crea Arena Artistry and Anywhere Festival.
How was your night, Belle?
Belle Anderson never really knew what she wanted.
She knew that she loved Leola, because why wouldn’t she? She fell in love with her high school sweetheart and proposed to her because she loved her so much. It’s why they’ve been going strong for eight years now. But what happens when Victoria, a former classmate of the pair, comes back into the picture? What happens when Victoria and Belle end up studying at the same uni? What happens when Belle makes the same mistake she did six years ago?
From the suburbs of Brisbane and the mind of emerging Filipino creative Jason Damot comes an interactive story about young queer love, falling out of it, and how you can pretend every move that you make is the right one. This immersive, interactive and gamified performance allows audiences to carve their own path and explore this story on their own terms. Will you watch as memories unfold in Belle and Leola’s home? Will you explore Belle and Leola’s bedroom and read their journals? Will you talk to the characters on a personal level and get to know their side of the story? Only you can decide your experience.
Go on. Spoil it for me, since you know everything.
This performance features a 20-minute interval and will also involve movement around different parts of the venue for full immersion into the narrative, which involves moving up and down a staircase. Audiences are forewarned that there are no accessibility options at this venue, and the team at Crea Arena Artistry sincerely apologises for the inconveniences caused.
This performance is at a house in Camp Hill, with plenty of free street parking and easily accessible by public transport.
