The croon, like the spoon is never about you it’s about them, and their tragic version of romance. Not the cooking utensil, although that is empty until used or mused (?) but the desperate hug that implies intimacy and ends in disappointment.

Crooners for Spooners, is presenting a hilarious, creative song and satire exploration of the machismo musings of the crooner as part of the Anywhere Theatre Festival Brisbane and Sunshine Coast 2019.

From Funny Valentines to sincere promises It had to be you, intentions of the crooner are re imagined through the voice of the muses themselves who take you exploring starry skies, earnest sighs, mournful cries and monotone whys?

Delivering old favourites and backlash ballads, Spooners for Crooners is a two hour musical spectacular inspired by Karen Carpenter’s coos over her Superstar who ‘told me you loved me baby’ and Patsy Cline’s brave ‘walks after midnight searching for you’.
