Northside Concert Orchestra Big Band

A swing around the dance floor

Northside Concert Orchestras (NCO) is a not-for-profit community music organisation based on the north side of Brisbane.

Our members range in age from high school students to retirees, and are from all walks of life, and come together to participate in one of our four ensembles; NCO Concert Band, Jazz Band, Brass Band and Youth Concert Band.

NCO Jazz Band was officially established in October 2020 and has had a standing performance relationship with Guide Dogs Queensland since 2021.

Our Jazz Band, led by conductor Monique Matthews, has taken part in black tie fundraising events for the Ukraine relief effort, dinner events for the Freemasons of Tibrogargan and Argyll lodges, the Big Band Festival organised by the Brisbane Jazz Club, and many more events.

‘A Swing Around the Dance Floor’, and ‘Another Swing Around the Dance Floor’, will be the groups second and third dancing focused events which offer dancers the rare opportunity to dance with a full-sized live Big Band for a full hour of classics.

If you would like to know more about Northside Concert Orchestras, collaborate with us on a show, or find out about our other upcoming concerts head over to our website or Facebook page!
