Isabel Stankiewicz
Isabel Stankiewicz is a Meanjin (Brisbane) based emergent disabled artist. Her practice is informed by transformative, participatory processes and involves dialogue, embodiment, improvisation, music, movement, storytelling, poetry, and silence. Performance highlights include her sold out work in progress showings of Necklace at Anywhere Festival in 2022 and 2021 and a showcase at Undercover Artist: Online filmed at QLD Theatre. Isabel is an experienced community development practitioner holding a Master of Development Practice majoring in Community Development, Graduate Certificate of Disability and Inclusion, and Bachelor of Arts (majoring in literature and theatre). Isabel was the successful recipient of the Australia Council of the Arts Disability and Mentoring Initiative in 2021 and received a Highly Commended Access Arts Achievement Award in 2023.
