Electric Moon is a creative musical performance collective and production house led by musician/director James Lees. The company creates and delivers festival programming, concert events, theatre musical direction and curated performance works. Recent major presentations include ZIGGY STARDUST (Melt Festival, QLD Cabaret Festival – Brisbane Powerhouse, Melbourne Cabaret Festival 2016), Lou Reed’s TRANSFORMER: The Album In Concert (QPAC 2015, Wonderland Festival – Brisbane Powerhouse 2016), HEDWIG 15 (Melt Festival, 2017), IN THE WARM ROOM: The Music Of Kate Bush 1978-1980 (QLD Cabaret Festival, 2017) and FIRE WALK WITH US: The Music Of Twin Peaks (The Junk Bar 2017/2018, Melbourne Cabaret Festival 2018, The Cast In Conversation Tour 2018, Wonderland Festival 2019).
In 2018, Electric Moon co-presented THE SOUND OF A FINISHED KISS, with Now Look Here Theatre. This new original stage work, written and directed by Kate Wild featured the music of The Go-Betweens performed live by an ensemble directed by James Lees.
More recently, Electric Moon has produced and presented the BLACKLIGHT concert series (2019), MOUNTAIN SOUNDS at Mount Nebo (2021) and SILVER SIRCUS: Home/Truth (Anywhere Festival, 2022).
