Come Dance offers dance classes and programs in dance health to older people in this region. This provides the opportunity for community engagement and participation in the joy of the dance artform and all its inherit health and wellbeing benefits – including cognitive stimulation, emotional wellbeing, social connection and physical fitness (incorporating the principles of falls prevention).
Our approach is specifically tailored for the diversity and challenges of this cohort. We offer seated, standing with support, and standing options for people with different mobilities. We incorporate creative and improvisational tasks to encourage self-expression, story-telling and confidence to venture into the unknown. We aim to give participants a wonderful, enjoyable experience that will energise both body and mind and enhance health & wellbeing in general. Participation, at whatever capacity a participant has, is valued over and above technical achievement.
Our programs are delivered in community halls, retirement villages, aged care and can partner with community and health organisations.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we present Anywhere Festival, the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi, Jinibara, Turrbal and Yuggera Peoples. We wish to pay respect to their Elders - past, present and emerging - and acknowledge the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their stories continue to play.
