“Live the Dream. Be the Dream” on the Nambour Theatre Trail
“In this country, people are always talking about dreams. You can be your dream. You
can live your dream. But that’s just a clever way of getting people to shut up.”
How does the pursuit of success both define and restrain us? Find out as we join five nobodies on their journey of discovery. Walk the Nambour Theatre Trail and become immersed in the highs and lows of life in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Along the way be enchanted by the songs of Judy Garland, Edith Piaf, Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday and Maria Callas.
This moving night of theatre will feature mouthwatering eats, a walk under the stars and visits to five ecclectic destinations. Enjoy the vintage vibe as the play unfolds at each venue. Who will we meet at the next stop and what will their story reveal? Come dressed in retro or vintage (optional).
“Songs for Nobodies” was penned by award winning playwright Joanna Murray-Smith, who has captivated audiences around the world with her sensitive and heartfelt explorations of the human condition.
Supported by playwright Joanna Murray-Smith and Nambour businesses: Mr Beasley’s Vintage, Arsenic and Love Letters, Switch Espresso Bar, C-Square and Majestic Cinemas Nambour.
The function is a fundraiser for women’s services Laurel House and BRISSC who provide support for survivors of sexual violence.
Special instructions: Meet at C-Square Nambour by 5.30pm. Bring a mobile phone and headphones/earphones, torch and cushion and dress warmly as some scenes occur outside. The show involves walking between five venues in the Nambour CBD.
