I Stand Here Ironing

Presented by Anne Pensalfini

An Exploration of Motherhood

EXTRA PERFORMANCE ADDED  – 7pm Sunday 27 May!

A teacher’s request for a parent meeting provokes a mother’s heartfelt response. I Stand Here Ironing explores longing and regret, joy and celebration, hope and housework.

Performed for an intimate audience in a laundromat, I Stand Here Ironing offers a rare chance to reflect on the journey that is motherhood. Crafted by a team of creatives who are also mums, this performance-conversation is adapted from a short story by Tillie Olsen.

Mothers are warmly invited. If you need to bring a load of laundry for after please do, because, well, you’re probably pretty busy.

Performed by Anne Pensalfini. Directed by Heidi Manché in consultation with Margi Brown Ash. Conversation led by Emma Che Raethke.

As seats are strictly limited, bookings are essential.
