Sit Down for Stand Up
We bring the best line up of stand up comedians to the festival and shove them into all corners of our mate Mel’s house. Straight from the Adelaide Fringe, QLD’s RAW Comedy and the bright lights of Gympie, our performers will share some home truths and have you laughing, crying and wanting more.
Get up close and personal in the bedroom, get comfy in the lounge, or find your space in the back yard under the gum leaves. There’s something for everyone as we spread our comedians around the place to deliver their most embarrassing and hilarious stories. Grab a drink and a bite from our cash bar, and mingle on the deck in between laughs.
Located by the tranquil Lake Weyba, 15 minutes south of Noosa, Mel’s home lived it’s early life as a dental surgery in Tewantin. Now retired and modestly renovated, it’s an inside out house that invites you to relax, find a lounge chair and enjoy the comic relief!

Watching Christopher Martin perform, his stage presence is so gigantic, you sometimes wonder if it’ll just collapse when he’s done. He commands attention in an affable way with an easy-going, likeable persona. It’s evident from the moment you see him that he’s a natural in terms of delivery and timing.
It’s not easy to separate fact from fiction in standup comedy. In the case of Claudia Bergs, there’s a particular joke in her repertoire that I was desperately hoping was fake news. If you’ve heard her perform before, you probably know which joke I mean. If you haven’t…well, let’s just say it involves a parrot.
Born and raised in the Northern Territory, David Woodhead is one of Australia’s best up and coming young comedians. At only 20 years old David has performed in the Adelaide Fringe Festival, opened for Australian comedy legend Peter Rowsthorne (Kath and Kim) and was a national finalist in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival RAW Comedy Competition in 2016. David’s sharp wit, and hilarious stories will keep you in hysterics.

Anna Brennan’s comedy is a bit like getting maccas when you’re drunk: quick, oddly satisfying and a little bit naughty. She started doing standup in Melbourne in 2014, was a runner up in Qld’s 2018 RAW Comedy competition and runs regular open mic comedy nights in Eumundi.
A 2018 Brisbane RAW Comedy finalist, Carolyn makes everything funny, even death.
